Instagram is now introducing a new feature: “Trial Reels”. Designed to test the performance of content before it is officially published, this new feature offers users a powerful tool for optimizing their content strategy.
Trial Reels allow you to publish a Reel on a trial basis, sharing it only with non-followers. The objective is simple: to observe how an audience unfamiliar with your content reacts to your publication before deciding to share it with your regular followers.
To turn this feature on, users follow the usual process of creating a Reel, but activate the “Trial” option before publishing it. Once a Reel has been shared in “trial” mode, it remains invisible to your followers and is not displayed on your main grid or the Reels tab of your profile. Only you can view it in your personal space.
After 24 hours, you have access to key insights into your Reel's performance: views, likes, comments, shares, and other interactions. Instagram also offers insights comparing these performances with those of your previous Reels. If you're satisfied with these results, you have 2 options:
