Shawass is an emerging French rap artist. With initially few monthly listeners on Spotify, he had however already established a remarkable presence on Instagram thanks to quality content, such as stories and Reels taken from his music videos, generating strong engagement from his community.

Here’s a recap of the campaigns launched by Shawass to promote his track “Champagne & Adultères”, which helped him grow his monthly listeners on Spotify from 14K to over 76K and increase the number of streams of the track to +130K.

Fin octobre 2023, Shawass sort son titre "Champagne & Adultères". Pour promouvoir le titre, il décide de lancer des campagnes de marketing digital dans le but de rediriger son audience vers les plateformes de streaming afin de générer des streams, des sauvegardes, des followers, mais surtout de nouveaux auditeurs sur les DSPs.

Shawass a lancé une campagne pour promouvoir " Champagne & Adultères" de novembre 2023 à janvier 2024, avec un budget de 670€. Le contenu de la publicité était un extrait du clip de son nouveau titre, mettant en avant son univers et les paroles de la chanson.

La campagne a généré plus de 2,6K redirections vers les DSPs pour un coût de 0,20€ par auditeur, faisant passer le titre de 4,7K à 43,8K streams sur Spotify en seulement 2 mois ! La campagne lui a également permis de développer sa communauté, en gagnant jusqu'à 600 nouveaux followers sur les réseaux sociaux et sur Spotify.

Following this campaign, in early January 2024, Shawass decided to relaunch a new 3-month redirect campaign to promote the same track, with a budget of €870. This time, the campaign generated over 2K redirects to DSPs, which notably helped the track reach over 130K streams on Spotify! Again, the campaign also enabled him to grow his community, gaining him up to 400 followers.

Over a period of five months, from November to March, the campaigns provided streaming platforms with a steady stream of data from an active audience, fuelling increasingly accurate referencing of the track. Redirecting a steady stream of new listeners had two significant effects: firstly, it alerted Spotify to the track’s rise in popularity, and secondly, it enriched the platform’s database of the listening preferences of various audiences, reinforcing the relevance of algorithmic recommendation.

As a result, “Champagne & Adultères” began to be recommended in algorithmic playlists, giving Shawass’ music an extra boost of streams. This dynamic also enabled him to stand out and be placed in the editorial playlist “Le Flow”, with several hundred thousand listeners!

In just a few months, Shawass recorded an increase of over 60,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, as well as the addition of over 1,000 new subscribers on social media and Spotify, testifying to the building of a solid fanbase.
